What Classes do I need to Take?

If you have never Refereed before then the class for you is the 4 hour U-8 Referee Class, also known as modules 1-7. This class introduces you to the Referee and Assistant Referees jobs at any level game, but don't worry we'll start you out slow.

In 2003 AYSO introduced modularized instruction for the Referees. Modules 1-7 must be taken in order and the remaining modules (8-13) you need to complete Regional Referee can be taken in any order. Add 10, 11, 12 to the first 7 and your officially an Assistant Referee, add 8, 9, and 13 to those ten and your now a Regional Referee ready to center a U10 game.

Already had all of these? Then email referees@tehachapiayso.org or call the hotline for information on more classed that can be available, like;

  • Intermediate Referee - Prepares you for U-12 games
  • Advanced - Prepares you for U-14 games
  • National - Is the U-16 & U19 level

Where are the classes held?

All classes are held at Benz Visco Park, which is where all of the soccer games are held. For directions to the park, feel free to visit our park direction page.

When are they Offered?

All referee classes are listed on the Tehachapi AYSO Calendar!
